Web News Article #: 188-2014The Postal Service intends to lower service standards again on Jan. 5, MSNBC broadcaster Ed Schultz told his audience on Oct. 20, and that means “it’s going to take a lot longer for your mail to get from Point A to Point B. “Overnight mail could be a thing of the past,” he declared. “Eighty-two mail processing facilities across 37 states are scheduled to be ‘consolidated.’” Schultz dismissed claims that the USPS is losing billions of dollars. “The reality is the so-called crisis is a manufactured one.”

10/22/2014For Immediate ReleaseThe Harvard Crimson today features a full-page advertisement calling on Harvard President Drew Faust “to do the right thing or resign.” The right course of action, the American Postal Workers Union says, is to use her influence to end a no-bid deal between the office-supply chain and the United States Postal Service. The deal outsources postal services to Staples.  In addition to her role as Harvard’s top administrator, Faust serves on the board of Staples, where she earns $300,000 per year.
